Job Purpose: As part of the development team, the community mobilizer will support Livelihoods, DRR and CCA interventions which aim to ensure communities (especially the poorest of the poor men and women) in the areas, can live in an environment in which their livelihood needs are met and their social resilience enhanced.
Key Accountabilities:
The job holder is accountable for fulfilling his / her roles and responsibilities in line with organization values and principles of fairness, humanity, honesty, respect, and fair treatment of his/her colleagues and team members.
- Conduct initial contacts/broad-based community meetings (BBCM) / stakeholders workshop at the community level for the introduction of the project in the targeted village
- Formation /reactivation/strengthening of community organizations (COs/VOs/ and DMCs and subcommittees in the project area as per need as well as provide guidance and facilitation in their registrations with social welfare departments or Soil Conservation Departments to capacitate them toward community-driven development programs.
- Facilitate the formation of community-based Self-help groups and apex bodies comprising of selected families.
- Capacity building of the community organization through orientation and in-house training. (CMST, LMST) etc.
- Assist in conducting needs assessment/baseline/surveys for data collection in the defined project areas.
- Provide active support in the development of value chains, business models, and cooperatives among target communities.
- Facilitate technical team in the training of targeted communities’ village-based Disaster Management Committees (DMCs) and poor families Self-Help Groups (SHGs) on DRR and CCA as well as extend support to conduct Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP) survey in the targeted communities to increase their knowledge on the mainstreaming of DRR and adaptation of climate actions.
- Provide support to technical staff to develop Village Council and UC-level Disaster Management Plans (DMP) of the DMCs/SHG, youth groups, and local bodies representatives in targeted areas.
- Facilitated awareness and campaign sessions at the community level on DRR and CCA issues
- Assist in the identification and prioritization of the most vulnerable/marginalized villages through PRA tools.
- Formation, revitalization, and strengthening of village/community development committees/organizations by ensuring the inclusion of all segments of society on a sustainable basis.
- Identification and prioritization of the most pressing needs of the communities through PRA tools (issues prioritization).
- Having sound knowledge of community-based implementation approaches.
- Ensure Beneficiaries Selection Procedure and understand the criteria.
- Fill all the relevant documents at the distribution.
- Resolve conflict among the target community through effective dialogues.
- Identification of beneficiaries for multiple project interventions i.e. Food for work/cash for work
- Assist Livelihood officer in the identification of in-kind/Cash grants support to extremely vulnerable individuals.
- Conduct orientation sessions with community organizations on Safeguarding and its complaint mechanism, and awareness-raising of protection risks and available services.
- Resolve conflict among the target community through effective dialogues.
- Proper record keeping of project activities at the community and office level both in soft & hard form.
- Develop case studies to reflect project impacts.
- Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
- Ensure the timely submission of technical and activities reports.
- Have to plan and design small tasks as and when required.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Perform any task assigned by supervisor as and when required.

Person Specification:

Qualification:
- Graduate preferably a Master Degree holder.
- Organizational and coordination skills.
- Ability to create, composes, and edit the field record.
- Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a multicultural community.
- Knowledge of hygiene promotion approaches in emergencies, particularly flood emergencies.
- Knowledge of Social Mobilization principles and procedures.
- Ability to gather data, compiles information and prepares reports.
- Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures
- Command on MS Office, use of internet and emails
