Key Responsibilities:
Legal Research & Advisory:
- Conduct legal research on various laws and regulations applicable in Pakistan.
- Provide clear and practical legal advice to management and different departments on corporate, commercial, labor, and regulatory matters.
Contract Drafting & Review:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents, ensuring compliance with Pakistani law.
- Advise on legal risks and contractual obligations.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that the company complies with Pakistani laws, including SECP, FBR, labor laws, and industry-specific regulations.
- Monitor and report on any legal changes that may impact the business operations.
Litigation Support:
- Assist in the management of legal disputes, including liaising with external counsel.
- Help prepare documents for litigation, settlement negotiations, or alternative dispute resolution processes.
Corporate Governance:
- Assist in maintaining corporate records, ensuring compliance with SECP requirements.
- Draft board resolutions, maintain meeting minutes, and assist in filing annual returns and other statutory documents.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate legal risks by advising on business strategies, company policies, and procedures.
- Work closely with management to ensure risk mitigation plans are in place for identified legal risks.
Employment Law:
- Advise the HR department on labor laws and ensure compliance with labor regulations in Pakistan.
- Draft employment contracts, handle employment disputes, and review workplace policies.
Policy Development:
- Assist in developing and implementing internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions for employees on relevant laws and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- LLB from a recognized law school in Pakistan.
- Licensed to practice law in Pakistan.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in a corporate or commercial legal advisory role.
- Experience in Pakistani corporate, commercial, and employment laws, Tax law.
Skills:
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of SECP regulations, labor laws, and tax laws.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Urdu.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
