  • Energy efficiency: Work with maintenance and facilities teams to optimize energy usage, reduce waste, and implement sustainable engineering practices.
  • Labor cost management: Assist in optimizing labor costs by improving workforce productivity, minimizing idle time, and developing labor standards.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with production teams: Work closely with production managers, supervisors, and operators to implement process changes and train them on new workflows.
  • Partner with supply chain and logistics: Coordinate with supply chain teams to optimize material flow, minimize inventory, and reduce lead times.
  • Support R&D and quality teams: Ensure that process improvements align with product development objectives and maintain or improve product quality standards.

7. Project Management:

  • Lead improvement projects: Manage and lead continuous improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely execution and measurable results.
  • Budget management: Develop cost estimates and budgets for process improvement initiatives and ensure projects are completed within the allocated budget.
  • Change management: Lead change management efforts, ensuring that process improvements are smoothly integrated into existing operations with minimal disruption.

8. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards: Collaborate with HSE teams to ensure that new processes, layouts, and equipment comply with workplace safety standards and regulations.
  • Implement safety improvements: Identify opportunities for safety improvements and implement ergonomic or process changes to reduce workplace hazards.
  • Sustainability initiatives: Contribute to environmental sustainability efforts by optimizing energy consumption, reducing waste, and improving recycling programs.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical proficiency: In-depth knowledge of industrial engineering tools and software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SAP, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Advanced problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Lean and Six Sigma: Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, with experience leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Project management: Ability to manage multiple improvement projects concurrently, from planning through to execution and completion.
  • Process design: Expertise in designing and optimizing production layouts, workflows, and processes.
  • Data-driven decision-making: Ability to analyze large datasets, generate reports, and use insights to drive process improvements.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including operators, managers, and executives.
  • Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving change within an organization.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing priorities, production demands, and evolving technologies in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
