Objective: The Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies at the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Posting in Accounting Software (Quick Books)
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide accurate financial information to management.
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking activities, including reconciliations and fund transfers.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely disbursement of salaries and benefits to employees.
- Liaise with program managers and project coordinators to track budget allocations and expenditures for various projects.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Ensure all supporting documents are stored in QuickBooks and inform the end user once the payment is finalized.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., MBA, ACCA, ACMA, CA) is preferred.
- Proven experience 5 years in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting Structure: The Accounts Manager will report to the Director Finance
Duration: This position is full-time and permanent, subject to satisfactory performance evaluations and funding availability.
