Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for managing and reporting financial information, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial data to support decision-making processes. The role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, managing ledgers, and conducting audits.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all financial information.

General Ledger:

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts.
Record and analyze financial transactions.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
Ensure timely payment of invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Reconcile vendor statements and manage vendor relationships.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
Monitor and report on budget variances.
Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support business planning.

Audit and Compliance:

Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant laws and regulations.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Taxation:

Prepare and file tax returns by local, state, and federal regulations.
Stay updated on tax laws and ensure compliance.

Other Duties:

Assist with special projects as required.
Provide financial analysis and support for business initiatives.
Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certifications a plus.

Experience:

Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Experience with accounting software (e.g. Peach Tree, QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, Oracle, Advanced Excel).

Skills:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
