About the Role

We are hiring a seasoned, hands-on Python developer with 6+ years of real-world backend experience. Your primary responsibility will be designing and building production-grade services in Python with FastAPI.

Important, read before applying: This role also requires strong working proficiency in PHP (Laravel), as you will maintain and extend existing Laravel systems alongside new Python services. However, Python is the lead skill for this position. If Python is a side skill you list at the bottom of your CV, this role is not the right fit. If you are a Laravel specialist without substantial, demonstrable Python experience, please do not apply—your application will not be processed.

What You'll Need Python (Primary — this will be tested first)

Strong, hands-on proficiency in Python and FastAPI in production environments
Solid understanding of Pydantic models, async/await, dependency injection, and typed Python
Experience designing, deploying, and monitoring Python API services (Uvicorn/Gunicorn, containerized deployments)

PHP/Laravel (Secondary but Required)

Solid working command of Laravel, Eloquent, queues, middleware, and modern Laravel practices
Ability to maintain, debug, and extend existing Laravel codebases confidently

Both Stacks

Solid command of MySQL, Redis, and OOP principles
Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and API development is required
Experience on enterprise-level projects—you understand what production-grade code actually means
Comfortable with Bootstrap for frontend integration
Ability to work independently, think critically, and make sound technical decisions without hand-holding
Strong English communication skills—written and spoken

Who We're Looking For

This is not a beginner role, and it is not a Laravel role with Python as a nice-to-have. We're not looking for someone who pastes AI-generated output without reviewing it. You should have a solid foundation built through years of real development experience.

Using AI tools is perfectly acceptable—but you must understand every line of code you ship, question what doesn't make sense, and take full ownership of your work. You should think critically, break down ambiguous requirements, and know when to challenge assumptions with better technical solutions.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Python (FastAPI) — clean architecture, typed code, high quality
- Maintain and extend existing systems built in Laravel (PHP), ensuring smooth interoperation between the two stacks
- Build and optimize database structures and queries in MySQL, leveraging Redis for caching and performance
- Develop and integrate MCP servers and APIs connecting our systems with AI-driven workflows
- Take ownership of features end-to-end — from interpreting requirements to deployment and post-release monitoring
- Collaborate with stakeholders to break down ambiguous requirements into clear technical solutions, and proactively suggest better approaches
- Integrate frontend components using Bootstrap
- Debug complex issues in production and implement reliable, long-term fixes rather than quick patches
- Review and validate code (including AI-assisted output) for accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with standards
- Contribute to system design decisions — performance, scalability, and security
