Job Summary: We are looking for a versatile and proactive IT Assistant to oversee and manage all aspects of our IT infrastructure, including systems administration, internet services, networking, and technical support. The ideal candidate will have a broad technical skill set and experience in ensuring the stability and efficiency of IT operations. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our IT systems, providing technical support to staff, and ensuring the security and reliability of our technology environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Systems Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.
- Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to maintain system integrity.
- Networking:
- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring reliable connectivity and security.
- Monitor network performance and optimize network traffic and bandwidth usage.
- Internet and Communication Services:
- Manage internet connectivity, including ISPs liaison, bandwidth monitoring, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of email systems, VoIP services, and other communication tools.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues.
- Train staff on IT best practices and use of various software applications.
- Security Management:
- Implement and manage security measures to protect IT systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Monitor for and respond to security breaches or vulnerabilities, and maintain up-to-date security protocols.
- Project Management:
- Lead and support IT projects, including system upgrades, new technology implementations, and infrastructure improvements.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement improvements.
- Evaluate and suggest new tools and technologies to enhance IT operations and support business objectives.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
● Proven experience in IT systems administration, networking, and technical support.
● Strong understanding of networking protocols, server management, and cybersecurity best practices.
● Proficiency in operating systems (Windows Server 2019- 2022, Linux and Ubuntu) and common business applications.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
